The Early Chamber of Commerce held the February Lunch+Learn today that was presented by Gentiva Hospice of Brownwood and lunch was provided by Hacienda Leon Mexican restaurant. Presenting speaker was Kelci Hall, a Hospice Care Consultant, as well as Delaine Hale, ADBD, Shannon McCallie, a social worker, and Evy Castillo, the Director, as the esteemed speakers. The presentation consisted of the following topics: Myths vs. Facts on hospice care, services provided while in hospice care, and information on hospice volunteers.
Gentiva stands as the largest hospice organization in the United States. Despite its size, the committed staff members, each with 17-52 years of experience, prioritize offering personalized one-on-one care to every patient. Delaine Hale, ADBD, shared a personal story about a loved one who received hospice care and how her experience inspired her to ensure others have a more positive journey than her family did. Kelci Hall, Hospice Care Consultant, recalls her pastor’s words, “It’s not always the words spoken that people remember, it’s how someone made you feel,” emphasizing the profound impact hospice has on every patient they service. Gentiva can service their patience anywhere they call home and warmly embraces them into the Gentiva Hospice family.
